What Are We Learning?

Language Arts / Reading:

Next Week's Spelling Rule: Short /e/ . Don't forget to study your spelling words each week.

In Reader's Workshop we are focusing on dropping bad habits and replacing them with good habits!!
1. Read, read, and then read some more
2. Do a sneak peak and then check it to see if you were correct
3. Use your reading strategies when you are stuck on a word.
4. Always do something at the end of the book - - don't just close it up!

Social Studies:

We will be learning about the leaders of our country, state, and city. We will learn who they are and about their responsibilities.

Math:

Learners will compose the number 10 with two or more addends with and without objects.

Math Take Home Activity:
Roll a dice two times and add the numbers or give your child a number.    Have your child draw a quick picture or tell you how many ways  to show that number two ways.
For example,   12  = 1 ten 2 ones, or 12 ones

Science:

This week , learners will classify objects by the materials from which they are made.   Learners will also visit the school garden to classify solids by properties, such as larger and smaller, shape, color, and texture.
