What Are We Learning?

Language Arts / Reading:

Spelling:  We will continue reviewing past spelling rules.

Writing:  We will continue to purposely add adjectives to our writing pieces to make them more expressive.

Reading:  We will finish up our fiction unit on fairy tales, fables, and folk tales. We will also finish up middle of the year reading assessments for every learner. Wow how their reading has grown!!!

Social Studies:

We will continue customs and traditions around the world, we will focus on Italy and Germany. Our Mind Mission will be to read "Small Wonders". We will invent something that's small but that can do a large job.

Math:

Learners will continue to represent word problems involving addition and subtraction of whole numbers up to 20 using concrete and pictorial models and number sentences.

Math Take Home Activity:
Give your child story problems to try and solve. Have your child explain how to solve the problem.

Science:

Learners will be using the engineering design process to create a toy. They will collaborate with each other to design their toy and will present their toy to each other at the end of the project.
